Hunter Douglas Wood Blinds &
Alternative Wood Blinds (Everwoods)
Dusting: Like any wood furnishings, wood
blinds should be dusted regularly to keep them looking new. Use a soft,
clean cloth, chemically-treated dust cloth, or dusting mitt. Lower the
blind to its full length, tilt the slats almost all the way down and dust.
Then tilt the slats almost all the way up and dust. (Not fully closing
the slats in either position allows dusting where the slats overlap.)
Vacuuming: Blinds may be vacuumed gently
with a brush attachment of any vacuum cleaner.
Compressed Air / Hair Dryer (non-heat setting):
The Country Woods Collection can also be cleaned using compressed air
or a hair dryer (non-heat setting), to blow the dust off selected window
coverings.
Spot Cleaning: Spot cleaning should be
done with a soft cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water, adding
a mild detergent if needed. Blot gently.
Bathtub Cleaning / Water Immersion: This
method may be used on Hunter Douglas Alternative Wood Blinds, Everwoods,
and Shapes ONLY.
Immerse entire blind assembly in lukewarm water with mild detergent.
Wash for five minutes by gently moving liquid around with your fingers.
Rinse with clear water.
Close blind before removing from rinse water.
Hold rains and tilt the shade to allow excess water to drain
off.
Re-install slightly damp blind into window opening.
Lower blind all the way to allow it to dry completely.
Ultrasonic cleaning of wood blinds is not
recommended.
